
President & Content Director, Joseph Funk
Joseph
Funk began his career as an assistant editor at Electronic
Gaming Monthly in 1991, and held just about every job along
the way to his position as Editorial Director of the Ziff-Davis
Game Group where he directed the content and teams of category-leading
magazines including EGM, Computer Gaming World, PocketGames,
and a number of leading one-shot publications. Mr. Funk was
also a co-founder of the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine
as well as VideoGames.com (since folded into GameSpot.com).
In 2000, Mr. Funk founded Mojo Media, where he has developed
the tools and technology, along with the people and passion,
to make Mojo a leading supplier and packager of editorial
and advertorial content for print and online. Mr. Funk
co-captained his college’s ice hockey team and still tries to stay
fit. He is active in various charities in his community,
and lives with his wife and young son in Chicagoland.
VP & Creative Director, Jason Hinman
Having designed literally hundreds of publications during his career, Jason Hinman
oversees many of the creative levers and switches that allow Mojo Media to
interface seamlessly with companies and clients, and to comfortably navigate
the synapses between concepts and hard copies.
Mr. Hinman provides a clear beacon of leadership for a design
and production staff with experience that ranges from brochure
websites to hardcover books, and from frequency magazines
to marketing materials. The recently married Mr. Hinman was
a standout baseball player in high school and is a Great
Lakes boating enthusiast.
Senior Writer, John Gaudiosi
John Gaudiosi has been covering videogames for television,
print and online for 14 years. He is a regular contributor
for outlets like The Washington Post, AOL, Yahoo!,
ESPN.com,
Home Media Magazine, Playboy Magazine, Wired
Magazine,
GamePro Magazine, PlayStation.com, AllThingsHiDef.com, and
CBS (WRAL.com).
He also serves as a videogame expert for NBC Consumer Reports
in Washington, D.C. and works with Foglight Entertainment,
producing videogame programming for TV networks like The
History Channel, Discovery Channel and Starz Entertainment.
John has contributed to a variety of outlets, covering the
convergence of videogames with Hollywood, as well as with
sports. John has a Masters Degree in English Writing from
George Mason University and in 2006, was named one of the
Top 50 videogame journalists in the world.
Project Manager, Shawn Smith
Shawn Smith brings a well-rounded visual and editorial eye
to the Mojo team with 10-plus years of experience working
in the enthusiast press. Among the most well-read Electronic
Gaming Monthly “Review Crew” members of
all time, and one of the cornerstone people who helped
shape
the voice of the ZD gaming publications for nearly a decade,
Mr. Smith is a versatile and dynamic creative force and
serves as an experienced and courteous interface for companies
large and small. The multi-talented Mr. Smith is also the
founder of emerging plush toy juggernaut Shawnimals.com.
Project Manager, Matthew Springer
Combining the ability to write with a snap and wit that belie
his geek-roots, along with more than nine years experience
producing content for many officially licensed TV show and
movie fan clubs, Matthew Springer is ideally suited to serve
as a friendly and accommodating interface for clients and
companies. With a voracious appetite for consuming the latest
in pop culture, Mr. Springer is an unparalleled ambassador
and engine for Mojo and its clients.
